[THE ART] The art for Ruin is incredible! Is it AI?

Well, thank you very much! Our in house illustrator, Brandon Ellis is the master hands behind all of our illustrations. Here at Authocracy we say no to AI, always. We want to support our creative talent and to ensure the future of illustrations done by human hands.

[THE LOOT] Will these books be available in any other language than English?

All books purchased through this Kickstarter will be published in English. The ultimate goal though is to have all the Ruin novels accessible to everyone and we would love to be able to print in different languages if there was enough of a demand. Watch this space!

[THE LOGISTICS] When will I be charged?

When the Kickstarter campaign ends, Kickstarter will charge you for your chosen pledge tier. You will not be charged before the campaign ends and if the funding goal is not met, you will not be charged. If there are any problems with your payment method, Kickstarter will reach out to you to get the issue corrected and your payment method charged. You will usually have a short time period to correct this, so please respond promptly to any communications to make sure you get your rewards - we would hate for you to miss out!

[THE PLEDGE TIERS] Am I able to get the Expedition Journal without Ruin: Rise of the Liberator?

If you would like to get the Expedition Journal without the novel then you can back at The Reader pledge level, then change the novel out for the journal in the pledge manager. We would highly recommend you get the novel too as both are designed to compliment the other.

[THE DISCORD SERVER] I want to join in with the Deep Delve. How do I join and navigate the Discord Server?

We’ve made the joining the Discord as easy as possible, whilst also adding protections against bots and bad actors.

Simple follow the Discord link, and it will lead you to the Ruin Discord Server, where you will be prompted to acknowledge that you have read the rules (general good actor stuff) and choose your delver class (which will come up later - just choose who you vibe most with!)

After that, you will find a channel called “The Delve Story”. This is where all new stories are posted with any votes attached. Whenever a vote comes up, simply click your chosen option and it will count towards the tally.

Congrats, you have now contributed towards the Deep Delve and will be featured in the Expedition Journal!

If you want to go further, please feel free to create a Delver Character and add it to the “My Delver Character” channel. That way author Brandon Berryhill will be able to use them in the story somewhere (especially if you interact and converse with other fans in the “Delve Chat” channel.

I hope that simplifies everything!

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
